Crimea mountains and roller-coaster in May
a dozen of russian enduro/cross riders have plans for that. if anyone has interest in the region u are welcome. the weather will be beautiful, roads and hotels empty. we plan to go up to national forestpark, cross Ai-Petry peak ( there is a decent asphalt road), some are going to Arbatskaya cape.
all the island is about 200 km width and 300 km length so it won't take long - 5 days may be. please mind Crimea oficially is a part of Ukraine |

samy,
the time is may holydays (1 to 9). meeting place is Crimea. if you gonna be there you have a lot of time to study the map of the place - it actually is 300x200 km and has very simple road system : from north to south (motorway) and from east to west (the rollercoaster) . the most and the only interesting part is mountains 100 km long and 50 across.any kinds of riding possible. try google earth for pictures and you'll see it yourself. as crimea is a all-over-resort there're lots of hotels and hostels and possibilities to camp. i don't quite understand what you mean by "alternative routes", off-road or tarmak, sporting or sightseeing? |

Hi there
I drove through Crimea from Kertsch up to Odessa in 2006, unfortunately very quickly as I had to go back to work. There are plans to go to the Taganrog bike show and than back through crimea ( 1 week crimea) Not sure about the dates yet. I will try to find out. Have fun ! Michael |
