China - Mongolia Borders ?
Hi All,
once again i am planning a trip on our chinese sidecar... This year i am looking for ...(China) to Irkutsk Do you know if there is any other border crossing from China to Mongolia than the one in Erenhot ? I am looking for a more western one... Thanks Antoine

There are other border crossings BUT the only one currently open to foreigners is Erenhot...as of July 2007 when I was there.
Post Beijing Olympics, things might change when more tourist dollars come in and China sees that depending on tourism will help diversify its current economic base. BUT don't forget to check the Thorntree and some of the French forums like le Routard(i think its called). THe HUBB is great but there are quite a few others out there in other languages.
