Between Vlad to the Russian/Mongolian border you won't have problems with fuel as there are stations every 200km offering 95 octane...

Between the Russian/Mongolian border to UB, same story as above...

After UB to Tashanta/Western border with Russia near Altai...you will need enough fuel to go 450-500km...distance between stations that offer 95 octane. If you can handle 80 octane...there are plenty of villages every 200km where you can pick up fuel from barrels, etc. Carr something to filter...

Two ways to handle the fuel situation...in front of Hotel Vladivostok.

Hi There, Is the fuel availability in these areas unleaded or leaded fuel generally?

unleaded availability

hi

unleaded fuel is not a concept that has really caught on yet in central asia !

from Vlad through Mongolia and into the Stans you will be unlikely to find unleaded.

It's only really when you hit 'european' side of the Caspian.
