Bikes back from Magadan in early September

Hi - is anyone in the same boat and will be trying to ge their bike back from Magadan in September. I can't remember what the options are - sharing a shipping container, flying back as bike parts? Any ideas? Any 4x4'ers thinking the same thing and will have space in a container? Once I've done the trip, assuming I don't find a way to get the bike to Kamchatka, then I'll be looking to exit Siberia sharpish in September.

Let me know,
Ed

Yeah, but the last ship listed on the schedule seems to leave Magadan on August 7, which is kinda early. Has anyone spoken with them re the schedule towards the end of August/early September?

I haven't spoken to them about a schedule after August but I have had successful email contact on shipping up to Magadan with their agent swim at tma dot ru.

For info I have been quoted 10,000 rbl (approx A$300) for bike and 18,000 rbl (approx A$600) for me.

Hope this helps.

Last time I was there, I seem to remember them saying that they run till the end of october or later .... dont quote me on it, it just sticks in my mind. As you know mate, there were two different shipments of bikes from Magadan to Vladivostok in the 2nd half of September last year. ... The Compass Expedition guys, and the Donkey and Mule trio. So I guess they have another schedule to follow this one. I am just blown away that they have got organised enough to formalise a schedule now

Ah yes, but it's only paper.... According to the schedule our bikes have been offloaded in Vladivostok on 20th June but we know that they are still in the container on the boat in the harbour because the offloading crane on the pier broke.

Just glad we have enough time on our visas to complete the Russian leg of our trip westwards. (But that will depend on juist how long customs take to clear the container once the ship has berthed)

This is encouraging. As we get closer to the end of the Siberian riding season I'll check back again to see what people are up to and see what the options are.

I just spoke with Transfes in Magadan; they couldn't give me a shipping schedule for late august/early September but said that their website will be updated with this information next week, so we'll see...

Hello,

does somebody have updated information in this?

I am planning to ride the road of bones next summer (2013) but I am still not sure how to do it. I will have 3-4 weeks, so no other solution that sending the bike by plane.

Do you know what is the best solution? Sending it to vladivostok or Ulanbataar?

I suppose it's not possible to send it to Magadan?

And I am thinking about selling the bike in Magadan, does someone know how the paperwork complicated is in russia?

Thanks in advance!!!
