Azerbaijan Visa and Import motocycle

Hello,
On my motorcycle trip through Asia I'm just in Pakistan. I want to get me a visa for Azerbaijan in Iran. This is possible in Tabriz or Tehran.

Has anyone had experience with the consulates? Can anyone give me a recommendation. Does anyone know the procedure for the import and export of the motorcycle?
Hartmut

Hi!

I'm interested to travel from Iran into Azerbaijan as well, and onto Georgia if possible.
Found out something useful already?

I cannot comment on your proposed route but two years ago when I was there you only had 72 hours from entering to either get your bike out of the country or into the customs controlled area at Baku port if you were getting the ferry. No idea why and the time of entry is recorded on your temporary importation permit, this rule seemed to apply to motorcycles and RHD cars but not left hand drive, friends got a permit for their Landcruiser for the 30 days of their visa.
Georgia is a doddle, 360 day stamp on arrival and no restriction on your vehicle.

I got a transit visa in the AZ Embassy in Tehran in 2010, but I since heard that they stopped issuing them.

Your best option is probably to get an e-visa online.

As far as I know, the 72 hour transit rule is still in force, though I have heard rumours that it has been changed. Certainly in May last year, when I last crossed Azerbaijan, the rule was still in force.

Entrance to Georgia is now 90 out of any 180 days, as per Russia and the EU. But still visa free and very easy.
