Alternatives for Russia to Alaska?

To skip the Rode of Bones and the Flight from Magadan, is it possible to ferry from Vlad to Japan? Do some sight seeing there and go by ship/ferry/plain from Japan to Alaska? I assume the costs will be very high? Any thoughts on that? Why dont they just build a road and a bridge in that northern point were the 2 continents meet? I'm starting to plan our trip next year, from UAE, Central Asia, Siberia, Alaska, Canada, USA. If money permits, we will continiue to South America.

Yes there are air cargo flights to Alaska (I think).
You will have to do your homework and call air cargo companies about that.
A carnet is highly recommended for Japan.
If you can't ship to Alaska, you can always go to Seattle or Vancouver and take the ferry up to Alasak (or ride the bike, of course).

As for a bridge, there is the "Peace King Tunnel" proposed by a cult leader who wants to build it for world peace. However, there are no roads directly to the Bering Strait, so it would be pretty useless...
