Canada coast to coast, May 21st

Hey all,
I've been planning a cross-country trip for a few months. Time flies...we are leaving in 10 days! The weather 'gurus' are calling for a hot and dry Canada this summer!

We leave Toronto on May 21 and ride east to Nfld & Lab, then back to Toronto for a few days.

On (or around) July 1st we head west. Plans are to hit Dawson City, and time permitting, Inuvik.

I hope to see a few of you somewhere during our travels - any and all company is welcome. We are on a road-bike (black R1150R), as oppossed to a dualie, and I have tried to avoid the TCH as much as possible.

Our (humble) web site is http://www.motorcycle-overland.com
This gives a very general idea of our route.

Ride safe all, and enjoy your travelling!

Lorne & Cindy you both seem to be covering a similar daily average to what we have planned. We start our crossing on July 20th, I will look out for your BM on the road. Good luck and safe riding.

Hi Glen,

Looks like I'm gonna hve a few days headstart from you. I'll be leaving Trenton on the 25:th of June and head east on the most unstraight route I can find to be in Calgary until the 14:th of July.

Hope we meet on the road and can share some km's.

Just saw your map and found we do have very similar outes planned. Let's stay in touch during the trip and we might very well pop into each other, but on the other hand you 2 was planning of motels/hotels whereas I'm more into camping to save a few bucks.

I've updated the map on my site to reflect my planned route, you can see it at http://www.biketourist.com

Cheers,
Zappa

Hi Zappa,
We'll keep an eye out for a black Transalp. We start our western leg on/about June 30, from Toronto.

Enjoy your travels!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
