Where to post "Hello!" from a new member?

Hi---I'm a new HUBB member, and after scanning the various forums I couldn't find a "Welcome to New Members" forum. Not that I'm dying for a grand welcome or anything...but in other forums where I hang out, there is a forum like this (just help orient new members, say hi, etc.)

Anyplace like this here? Or are we "all business" and one simply dives in wherever info is needed?

Thanks,
Scott

Welcome Scott!

As most of our longtime members are aware, we are in the throes of massive upgrades - and some new forums, including an intro forum, is on the list. There will also be a full personal page for members too! :)

We tend to be focused on getting what we need and less on chit-chat, but there's still plenty of chat - and there will be a special forum for just chat too.

have fun, and we look forward to hearing about your travels! :D

Hi Scott, welcome to the forum. Ok, there, I said it. I just joined this forum tonight and was kind of wondering the same thing. So I will welcome you myself :thumbup1:

I had the same question...so I've just been crusing around looking for a spot where I might make a useful contribution...this forum seems to be all business and very little fluff...quite the opposite of most forums that I frequent...I guess that's a good thing if you need answers and don't have time for fart jokes, naked pics, and silly links...I like it:thumbup1: I just wish I had some serious travel plans to offer...I mostly just poke around New England these days:scooter:

Good to hear you like it, thanks! :)

Re "hang around New England"... hang around here a while and you'll find all sorts of interesting places to head off to, so you WILL be making some "serious" travel plans sooner than you think! ;) The important thing everyone finds here is that it IS all possible - and easier than you think.

Hallo. I·m new like you three-- too. Really enjoying reading everything in the Hubb, and I am getting the encouragement and the neccesary kick in the ars, to seriously start thinking of traveling (living) again. I must also be getting on in age, cause I got everso emotionally delighted on Ted·s behalf, after having read his decision. I think most everbody has had to choose in similar situations, and having made the wrong decision in the past makes me feel totally convinced that Ted will regret a lot less his choise than I did mine.
Note: I am "happily married" with 4 lovely kids, but the serious (and a bit boring) things in life can, and should be, posponed till as late as possible!!!!
saludos from a new friend,
Danquart
:tongue_smilie: Asturias (northern Spain) and worth a visit !

I'm also new here, and was wondering where to say hello. I happened upon this site doing some research for new equipment and thought this might be a good source for advice based on the experience of others. I'm glad I joined, but will probably be doing more reading than writing! So far I have been to several US states: Tennessee (Deals Gap), almost all of Texas, Florida, Georgia, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, California, North and South Carolina. My girlfriend (who is American) and I rent a Harley-Davidson and we try to keep away from the Interstates where possible. We like going to the Harley type rallies, and prefer to see the sights rather than cover the miles. There are plenty of excellent roads for bikes over here in England, Scotland and Wales but I enjoy riding an American made machine on an American road. Nothing wrong with other makes, I have ridden BMW/Honda/Yamaha as well as my HD's. That's what I prefer. I/We haven't done any trail riding yet but intend to get a BMW/KTM type machine and explore more of Arizona at some future point. By the way; when travelling across the USA by motorcycle or other means, consider getting a National Park pass. It is a good investment.

Welcome to this site.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Im new, enjoy fart jokes, and really like what im seeing. Hey lowrider, I dont see Colorado as part of your list. You might consider a visit. HD for the front range and a dual sport for the mts.

LowRider 2 Mar 2007 14:36

Thank you for the welcome Jan
Hi Fartdog
I did get to Colorado, but only by about 15 miles on a visit to Four Corners. We rented an H-D Tour-Glide from Salt Lake City Utah, went through all the National Parks down into and across Arizona then on to Beatty Nevada for the 'HOG' rally there last May. We do intend to go back and explore some more of Colorado, and New Mexico as well, as we only got as far as Roswell on our Texas trip in 2005. I wish I could make my leave go further, but it seems to run out so quickly. You have a wonderful country over there, but in my case time, or lack of it is always the limiting factor at the moment...

fartdog 3 Mar 2007 12:21

well if you ever decide on a return trip to colorado, you know somebody. I would be happy to show you around or maybe take in a rally.
