Hello everyone,

I too am a new member, just joined last night. I am originally from Germany and now I'm located in Utah, USA (no, I'm not mormon and no, I dont have several wives... I have ridden to AK from Salt Lake City on a KTM 950 and I'm planning another AK ride in 08 on a R1200GS-A. I have ridden extensively in the intermountain area and I'd be happy to help anyone who may be riding through the area or planning on seeing Moab or other area's close to me.

I work for a full service motorcycle dealership in Salt Lake City, if any HUBB member finds themselves in need of help or assitance while in SLC, please let me know...even if you just want to stop by and say hello. If you want to know the shops name and address simply PM me.

Thor

Nice to say hello

Hi all

Just dive in where you think fit , regional forum (like Thor) or tech, or whatever. I always view 'posts last 24 hrs' and I suspect a lot of others do. Could be a danger that new members just get to say hello to each other instead of making good contacts with the more experienced contributers. For instance if I see a 4x4 thread i just ignore it as I don't have a 4x4 and I think solutions for them are not likely to be useful for me and my f650.

On the other hand I would probably read a thread that said 'Hi I'm new' in one of the other dedicated forums.
Just the way I see it guys and gals.

Newbies united

Welcome!
I am also a newbie to the site. In fact, I just joined this week.
However, my husband, Darren, and I atended the HU meeting in NC last year - which was a catapult for me to agree to plan our big trip that we started this week...Since then we have been using the information that others contribute. So beware - this site and its members may influence you to sell everything you own, quit your job and travel around on a motorbike...but is that so bad?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
