URGENT question about bike rego in NY
Hey guys;
Shipped my bike here, have been riding around NY a few days before planning to head west today. Just been pulled by NYPD who reckon I have to register the bike here in NY. Done my research, got my 1 year temp exemption, and insurance. So it kinda threw me. Is he right?

I wonder what they mean't by 'register'? You certainly don't need to get a US registration number. Perhaps they meant it needed to be registered with the customs people? I've been to the US twice with my bike and had no problems. The Customs people did want to know if I intended to be staying permanently or that I was just a visitor. Or should I say, they were concerned whether the bike was permament or not ie a temporary import. Paul
