Tail of the Dragon

I've finalized my travel plans for this year. Made a reservation to be in Tennessee for October. This will be my 1st time, of course I'm going to ride The Dragon and go to Nashville, but I'm wondering what else I should ride and go see while I'm there. All recommendations appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

I agree that the Skip Barber museum is not to be missed, but it's outside Birmingham and not very close to where you will be going. My suggestion is to ride the Dragon, get the Tshirt and move on to much better rides in the area. Clean, inexpensive Mom and Pop is the Tuskeegee Motel.
Untitled Document There are other more biker oriented places to stay in the area if that's your sort of thing. Information about the area and other rides can be found here: Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap, motorcycle and sport car two lane tourism serving Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap, Cherohala Skyway, Moonshiner28, Devils Triangle, and Six Gap North Georgia.. If you decide to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway North to the Asheville area, stay in Maggie Valley and check out the Wheels Through Time Museum. Wheels Through Time | The Museum That Runs The Owner/Curator Dale Walksler is a trip and if he is around he will freely give an impromptu tour and start a bunch of very old bikes for you. He and his son Matt star in the Velocity series What's in the Barn. That should give you a good start.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
