register bike in Washington state
 

Hi guys,
have a question
I´m a us citizen living in Switzerand. I would like to buy a used bike in WA and register it there.How would that work? do I Need a us Drivers licence or is my swiss one good? Do I Need an Adresse in WA?
Any info is helpful.

Its fairly simple. WA DOL site has some good info:

You'll need to fill out the Primary Residence Exception form. I've seen lots of vehicles registered in WA to folks that live in other states. I have yet to see one for someone living overseas, but it shouldn't be too difficult.

Ignore the bit about emissions testing, motorcycles are not required to have that done. Insurance is also not required here in WA, but you will need to have it if you take the bike out of state or into Canada.

I don't think you will need to provide a drivers license, as there are many, many people that have vehicles registered to them that don't have a drivers license (weird, I know).

For tab renewal once you have the bike, you can opt to have notices emailed to you, or you can do the License eXpress thing. Renewals can all be done on line, provided you don't let the tabs expire.

You may need somewhere to mail the initial paperwork and the new license plate. I think plates get replaced every 5 years???
