Is liabilty insurance compulsary? . . .

It varies greatly by state. In Wisconsin, where I am from, it is officially required, but I have never been asked to prove I am insured. In Texas, where I am living now, proof of insurance is the first thing a policeman will ask for if he stops you. Those are the only 2 states I have first hand knowledge of.

In most US states liabilty insurance is required for vehicles that are registered in that state.

I have searched around the net and the only thing I could find is a insurance company that wants to sell insurance.
http://www.insuranceexchangeonline.com/autoUS.htm I don't know what is required if anything. John |
