Inbound LA feb 4

All going well me and my DR 650 will be ready to depart LAX feb 5. My shipping create will be available for anyone outbound? Factory Susuki crate is yours if you want to collect it. Meesage me if interested.

I'm looking to head south as far as I can go, turn around and ride as far north as I can.
No time frame, I'm just going to roll with it.

I'm happy to meet local folk and collaborate with fellow travelers.

Has anyone got suggestions for purchase and replace rear shock. Cape York has Made mine tied.

Cheers
Ted

DR650 Shock Rebuild - San Diego Adventure Riders

This guy seems to have his stuff together. He ordered from Pro Cycle, and they seem to deliver pretty quick (~2 days). You could order to a bike shop in San Diego and get them to do it there, or to your hostel or whatever and do it yourself!

I'm in San Jose, heading south in the next couple days for the Baja California on my F800GS, continuing south for the east coast of Brazil and then then south to Buenos Aires and back up the west coast. I'm keeping a blog, so check it out from time to time and let me know if you're in my area.

Cape York? Whazza Woo? :confused1: Whas-sat?

Did you ship your DR in from Oz? What'd that cost you?
The guy on that San Diego link is still around and on various forums. I would email him ... he's a good guy, and I'm betting he could help out with a shock rebuild.

As mentioned, parts are 2 days away at most. Think about a stronger spring if you've got the standard one.

I have a 7.6 kg. shock spring on my DR, but many carrying a big load go up to 8.1 kgs. or so.
Same up front. Heavier springs a good thing with DDC valves or Race Tech emulators.

I'm sure you've been working on your Spanish? Right mate?

Flying to LAX same week

Hey Ted,

Waiting for confirmation of my booking but planning on flying to LAX in the first week of Feb also. Heading into Mexico from Texas for a slow year to Buenos Aires.

Where are you flying from? I'm coming from Brissie and bringing my 12GSA!!

Paul

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
