Good Reputable Garages in Phoenix, AZ?

Hi All,

Planning to start a year long journey from Phoenix around September. Need to buy a bike there in the US for obvious financial reasons. We brits do get ripped off!! Can you guys recomend any good new & second hand dealers for BMW or KTM.

I have family in Phoenix and will be able to possibly get over the pond before to kit out for my Journey. First adventure since 1989! Cant wait.

Thanks.

I live in Yuma, Arizona, which is about 3 hours west of Phoenix. The interstate it is on (Interstate 8) is the same one that people use to drive between Phoenix and San Diego. If you are thinking of heading into Mexico this way, or heading to San Diego, look me up.

Mojorising, one of the members on a Chinese bike site I belong to lives north east of Phoenix in a mountainous part of Arizona. I used to live in the higher elevations of Arizona on the Navajo Indian Reservation, so his thread brought back some memories.

Having lived on the reservation, I remember the many scenic places that were accessible either by paved highway or dirt roads. The dirt roads were maintained somewhat regularly, so shouldn't be considered impassible with an enduro bike.

I'll let you link through his thread, and that might give you an idea for some "local" (local to Arizona) riding. If enough people are interested, I would like to hit the sights of the Navajo Reservation, so keep that idea open, too.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
