ESTA visa waiver.....entry question USA.

Has anyone recently had problems entering the US on a one-way ticket..I wanted to do this soon as want to head south to Chile, (taking in the odd match in Brazil at the World Cup),,,,I have several trips into the US in the past stretching back to 1979, always stuck to the rules and left after a week or two.......the US web says no return ticket necessary if you have a visa of any kind..?
