closed roads alaska and roads leading there
I have heard two travelers today saying roads are closed in alaska and from dawson creek north due to washouts and bad weather. Any others hear anything about this?

Haven't heard anything, then again, I'm in Colorado. It wouldn't surprise me that they are closed. A couple years ago, same thing happened to me up there. Best thing to do is to contact the state police, they'll know for certain. Another option is to go check out how "closed" something is. You'd be amazed at what passes for being closed when a motorcycle can get by it easily.

The Alaska Highway was closed due to washouts from the spring rains, but I think they've gotten it back open now. Saw some people from the outside earlier this week.

Thanks Skierd, I work at a cycle shop between glacier and yellowstone so sometimes I get to talk to a few travelers. I like to pass on any pertinent ifo. The going to the sun highway in glacier is supposed to be just opening now.
