Cheers guys. My only problem at the moment is the heat. Way too hot for me! I am English so i do like to complain about the weather

That coast along Big Sur is well worth visiting. Back in 1997 I rented a Honda 600 out of the Los Angeles area, rode up along the coast to Monterrey, and then east to Yosemite, returning to LA by the same route. Very nice ride...

Where are you going to be on Friday July 8 or Saturday July 9.
We were thinking of taking a lunch ride from Reno to Yosemite by way of Tioga Pass Hwy 120.
Will you be around there ?

UKbri 6 Jul 2011 17:15

John Ferris 6 Jul 2011 19:37

We can ride down for lunch in Lee Vining, CA on Friday or Saturday.
If you are still in Tonopah you may want to go North to Gabbs, NV and the

I am not sure if the gas station is still open in Gabbs or not.

I should be in Yosemite today. Havnt got good access to internet so not good at communicating at the moment. Hope i bump into you somewhere

Bill Ryder 11 Jul 2011 14:56

January is a nice time to tour death valley. In the summer the majority of visitors are from other countries who don't realize the name "Death Valley" has a historical backstory. Head for the hills or coast and cool off. Up here in Montana the snow is still blocking some of the mountain roads.

Can't wait !!

UKbri 13 Jul 2011 17:39

Sorry that i missed you John. Like i said its been tough getting internet. I have moved onto Santa Cruz. Been here for a few days. Been down to Carmel and upto Half Moon Bay. Going to Monterey today then heading up the coast To San Francisco in the next few days. Its a beautiful state with lots to see. Having a blast, especially on the roads in Sequoia. I didnt think America did twisty roads but in Sequoia NP they are amazing.

John Ferris 13 Jul 2011 19:16

About 250 miles North of San Francisco is California Hwy 36.
It is a must for motorcycles. From the cool coast 140 miles inland to Hot! Red Bluff. Twisty. See the Link.
