I wouldn't bother with visa in advance. We crossed from Western Sahara to RIM on 8th Jan and the whole process took 15 minutes and cost 20 euro for visa and 10 for "cadeau".

Hey thanks for the info, sounds good to not have to get one in advance as I would prefer not to have to travel to the major cities, want to stick to the desert tracks, thanks for ya info guys.
Cheers

The Mauritanian Gendarmerie is even insisting to take the visa there, usual demand for 'cadeaux' is facilitated if you take the visa with them. Asked us for 20 euros each, also, last 24th January. Cheaper than in Portuguese Mauritanian Office, cost was 35 euros.

This is no longer the case (as we found out to our cost) visas now take 24 hours in Casablanca. You can also get a multiple entry visa at the border -- so no reason to bother with Casa.

I am currently in agadir qnd plan on doing the atlantic route all the way down and over to mali. Should I try to gt to casa, or can I get my multiple entry visa at the boarder? Whats the cost? should I bring Dihrams or Euros?

Euros work at the border, dirhams in Casa. Don't bother with Casa unless you have free time and want to see the city as it's a 24hour wait.

Forget all talk of exploding cars, deep sand and scary officials it's very easy at the border, just join the queues, smile and relax. Remember to bring photocopies of your passport.

I think it was 30 euros total at the border.

Photocopies

A good tip!
I used 18 photocopies of my passport between Morocco and Mali and back
It really speeds things up at checkpoints.
As does a big smile!, Small Euro notes and Immodium!
