Zumo 550 Update?
 

Right, I'll admit I'm being thick from the outset.

I have a Garmin Zumo 550, with maps that are out of date. I've bought a lifetime update from Garmin's site, and have downloaded the current 2012 maps to my computer (although it took 24 hours to do, even with Broadband :(). I've tried to copy the 2012 to my Satnav, but there only seems to be 212MB or so free.

The question is how do I alter this / upload said maps? I Have a 16GB memeory card, although it's one from my 'phone and I'm having to use an adaptor. I can't seem to access this as a potential storage space, either.

I used Garmin Lifetime updater to download, and am trying to use MapInstall to do just that.

I'm sure the answer is simple but, as with all things, until someone points you down the right path, life can be very frustrating!

From what you say you are on the right track using map install and I suspect you just need to choose to install them to the SD card rather than internal memory. There are lots of how to's over there on the 550 and even a Wicki with info,
