Why not advices with gps points??

Hello everybody,
my name is Henning from Germany. i was reading now often in the hubb forum, because we (me and a friend) want to do a tour starting in may from Cancun to L.A..
So we were looking for advices for hotels, dealers and other things in this forum. and all of you were posting a lot of advices.
But nearly no one did post an gps coordinate with his advice. Why not?
It is much easier to find a way point/gps coordinate then an adress and nearly every traveller uses in the meantime a gps - mostly garmin i think.
So please would you (however post an advice) put the gps coordinate with your advice together, that would be very helpful for other traveller.
We started in our KTm Forum in Germany many years ago a list with coordinates for all KTM Dealers in Europe with mapsource. It is very helpful when you are on your way in a region you dont know and something happened to know where is the next dealer, also we have this for special hotel for bikers.
So i asked all of you to do this also - when you have/post an advice for a dealer/hotel/restaurant or whatever, please put the coordinate on your advice.
Thanks a lot
Blitz
Here you can find our lists with ktm dealers around europe:

I don't use a GPS. For this reason none of my posts will include coordinates. Sometimes they have been declared useful nonetheless.

I understand that those who do use GPS's find them very handy, and some of these users like to have coordinates for everything. However, when following such people around I've found GPS's less and less useful the further one gets from old European cities. Maybe that's just me, but this might explain some of what you're noticing.

I'm sure that coordinates would be very helpful to lots of riders. I'd suggest only that posters going to the trouble of including GPS coordinates with their posts also include street addresses for the likes of me. A listing of campgrounds or repair shops with their coordinates is of no use to me in the absence of a street address of some sort; if listed with an address but no coordinates even the technologically-adept GPS user will be able to find it. Or so I guess, being prone to fits of optimism.

Hi Henning

I'm sure that we met at the Italy HU meet last year.

I have a GPS and there are times when it comes in handy but I'm old fashioned at heart and I like my maps. And, isn't half the fun of travelling asking people where things are (or trying to). I always like the satisfaction of turning another corner and finding what I've just spent the last hour or so searching for - even better when it dawns on me that I've already been past it half a dozen times already and not seen it !

But, who am I to judge - each to his own that's what I say !

Hey Mark, hey strimstrum,
yes we have met last year at hu meeting in italy - nice to hear of you.
I am also sometimes "old fashioned" - and if i see something interesting, it doesn`t matter to me what my gps said. But whenever you have driven into a big town, or looking for a hotel in a busy town or it was "a little bit hot" your are very lucky to have a coordinate on your gps. in marocco, iran or india i cant read sometimes the signs - so it was very useful to have a gps with me - also in the desert. And also if you have "only" a waypoint - you just look into google earth - and it will show you the exact point - with the adress. Also the way around is working, you have an adress, you put it into google earth or google map and he will show you the coordinate. Also in Japan or China - there are a lot of people that doesn`t understand you, they can not help you to find an adress - you will be very, very glad to have a gps and a point.
But everybody should do whatever he wants to do. It is just very helpful for that drivers who use a gps.
With best regards
Henning
