what's my best option?
 

looking for a gps that'll do a bit of everything for me (except drink my beer and ride my bike):cool4: . i do a lot of riding on the road in europe so am looking for good detailed road mapping of europe. also i would like something that can be used on a off road basis.doing morocco soon and although i'm told i dont need it would be nice to have to get used to in an area where i dont need it. do these gps's show only paved road's or do they also show gravel tracks? my favourite! in other words between two cities will it direct me on tarmac or give me an option to go down tracks instead? also i want something i can type coordinates into for petrol stations etc. also if i went on an rtw i would like something that i can just change the sd card for each country i enter into rather than carry a computer with me. i was looking at the garmin 276 but i notice that you can only use their cards which then makes it expensive.also i notice the 60csx is popular here,will it do all that i'm asking? sorry if there's lots of questions but i'm a beginner at gps and prefer to buy something that'll last the rough and tumble's on an AT and does'nt go out of date in two months also. dont really want to spend more than £500/€750 any help would be greatly appreciated:thumbup1:

Pricing .. well a 60Cx (drop the S and save a few beans) with City Navigator Europe would be what in £s? (City Navigator is able to tell you how to get from one place to another - good for crowed places like europe)

For Morocco you can get a good free map for your garmin .. will not do autoroutring (telling you how to get from one place to another) but it does have most of the tracks.
And then you can buy smellybikers Wanderlust world map .. at not much cost and with increasingly good detail. This also does not do autorouting.

On the tracks you won't want autorouting .. you will want to stop and figure things out .. if for no other reason than to look around, stretch legs .. check the luggage. Take a photo.

I'm riding from Cape town to cairo at the moment and I'm using a Garmin Zumo. I looked at before i went and thought it looked too simple to be any use. So id started the trip without any at all and ended up buying it in Namibia.
I previously used a Garmin 2610 but have to say that this thing is great. the screen is a touch screen and is pretty big and is glove friendly.
You can put on maps on straight forward SD cards.
In africa i, using a program called Tracks4Africa and its good. It is not auto routeable but you can ounch in co-ordinates for anywhere.
There is always a fuel icon always present which will give you the nearest fuel pumps in decending order ( although a few times i was worried i found fuel nearer than it said).

I have it mounted on its own bracket and I have driven hard over very rough ground and there is no problem with it.. no need for a fncy Touaratech one.

As far as I know its easy to get europe city maps which will be autorouteable

I would definitely buy it again if I had a choice
