Never heard of it, but you should ask yourself:

how good are the maps?
how often are they updated?
what areas do they cover?

I assume by "Garner" you mean Garmin...

Third-party and whence free maps are available only for Garmin (unfortunately), because somebody "reverse-engineered" the map codes and wrote a compiler for it.

As far as I have heard, the Adventura takes pretty much any map, whether their own format, Garmin, OSM, Topo, Vector, Bitmap etc. At least the claims on the Touratech website might lead you to believe so. But I've never gotten to play with one of those, and am not going to buy one without trying it out first ...

Looks like the hardware is made by Holux, a company based out of Taiwan, that also makes gps data loggers and other Gps units. You might find reviews on ebay or Amazon as there seem to be a lot on the market.

Hi Capo Sakke,

I'm using the TwoNav in combination with TTQV and I like it very much because one can load all kind of maps, vector as well as grid maps. It offers a lot of nice features and is easy to handle.

I have to disagree with you here. According to their web site TwoNav can use bitmap maps, but these are just images, so not routable or searchable. There is no indication on either web site that Garmin maps can be used. TwoNav maps cost 500-650 Euro per country.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
