Tomtom rider

Can I use the Tomtom Rider to navigate to GPS coördinates instead of a streetaddress ?
I checked the Tomtom website and the Tomtom Rider brochure but I could not find anything.

The Tomtom One I use in my car does have a GPS icon but it is grey and it doesn't work.

Have you bought the TomTom unit yet??
If not then take a look at the Garmin 2610 first. They've just been discontinued and there's a couple of places selling them for £200 (about 290 euros).
The maps may not look as pretty on the screen, but you can do a lot more with it. You can enter your GPS co-ordinates into the unit, and you get routing software for your PC so you can set up routes, waypoints, etc on the PC and transfer them to the GPS unit.

Check out this new software.http://www.janboersma.nl/gett/index.php as it makes possible using Google Earth to plan routes and transferring them to the Rider

rider 2

There is an icon in rider2 that allows this. Also if u use tyre with google earth u can enter co-ordinates.
one question: When u press down in the centre of your screen does it feel spongy (flexible), i bought a rider 2 a month ago and this presented a problem. The plastic over the lcd screen had air between the plastic and lcd screen. When it got very warm the air expanded and made it very diffucult to enter information. I sent it back for repair and it returned with the same problem. I am now exchanging it for a new one but am wondering if it is the same with all ttr2.

Thanks

I have mine now for a month and have no problem with it, warm or cold.

I'm very happy with it. It is much more relaxed riding when you don't have to look at the map and try to find the right road. The bluetooth headsets works fine.

This software is very helpful along those lines

Le Web Bazar !!! GPS Tomtom Rider !!! Applications !!! Offroad Navigator !!!

It allows you to navigate 'off road' using co-ords rather than pointing at a map - it also allows you to upload custom maps to use.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
