South-America: Are Mapear GPS maps still routable?

Hello,

I have a Garmin Oregon and am trying to load Mapear maps before flying over to Buenos Aires early January.

I followed a very usefull tutorial in English and was was able to install Mapsource and download the Mapear maps for Argentinal, Chili and Uruguay. However on Mapsource I am not able to to check the box to activate the routing feature (see step 17 of the tutorial) as the box is greyed out :(

I'm wondering if some of you have encountered the same issue and if you were able to fix it.

I do not have the Mapsource disk (not provided with the GPS) so I had to follow the workaround indicated in the tutorial to download the application from the web. Maybe this is a side-effect. Does anyone has a clue?

Thanks a lot

Mapear still being routable

I just find this old post
Maybe too late for Effix but can be useful for other having the same question.

New mapsource versions with newer Mapear version upload routable maps without check the referred box. Just don't care about....

Old GPSs with old firmware maybe will not support Mapear latest versions, like the Garmin 60CS (latest firm was from May 3rd, 2007) only works with the Mapear V8.50 and not with newer like the V9.0 or 9.10. The new generation Garmin files will not work with old software, check to have the latest Firmware on your GPS always; I had the same problem in many GPS trying to upload maps (Zumos, Quest, 60s & others) till I discovered that in very small letters in the garmin and other GPSs websites and forums.
