I'm not sure whether it'll work. If I remember correctly I had to activate the software on my Zumo via the Garmin HP. Prioir to the activation the coding of the device and the type had to be entered. So if you activate the s/w on a Nuvi and try to do this afterwards on the csx60 this might be blocked by Garmin.

ive done this before, its fine as long as both units use the same mapping and i dont know much about the nuvi, sorry.

garmin allow you to register two units to each software mapset, so if you get two units you can sell one unopened and unregistered mapset with the yellow unlock code for a fair amount.

Errr As I understand 'it' no .. the maps are 'locked' to the GPS .. yes you can copy the file .. but the other GPS won't use it ..

------------------------
In teh past Garmin had a polocy of alowing 2 GPSes to be used with a map set. It looks like they have changed that polocy to only alow 1 GPS to use a map set (with a price reduction). This only aplies to the 'locked' map sets .. City Navigator for instance. Some map sets are not locked - world map for instance.

Do be aware that map sets have versions .. older versions will not be upto date .. and may be sold off cheap...

Frank's right - I tried to do this between my two Garmin 2610's (one bought in the USA with North America City Navigator, one in the UK with Europe City Navigator) and one unit wouldn't read the mapping data uploaded to the other machine.

However, I spoke to Garmin, and because I own (and have registered with them) the two units, I got another unlock code for the European mapset so I can use the European maps in my original (USA) unit...
