palms and compact flash GPS
 

Hi, being a complete newbee to the world of GPS, I would like a bit of straight-forward advice on what product to go for.

In an ideal world I'd love one of the new combined palm/GPS handhelds. but I think this is a bit of an extravagance + probably a bit too 'flash' for the road.

However, I am aware of the compact flash GPS cards for PDA's and wouldn't be averse to finding a second hand PDA & card from somewhere such as e-bay, and at a reasonable price.

Does anybody have advice/experience that they could share? perhaps I am better with a conventional GPS unit, and a seperate PDA if I'm desperate to have one. Perhaps a new combined unit is such a fabulous bit of kit that I ought to invest in one immediately!?! I just don't know...
