Ok, I've zero experience with sat nav/Gps so apologies if this is a bit tedious.

We're (finally) heading to South America in a few months and as amazon is doing a good deal on these units at the moment I'm considering getting one.

The question is do they have the capability to make them them worthwhile taking outside of Europe/the US..?

I know you can use alternative maps via the card slot, but it's not possible to upload routes..?

As a novice I don't know if this is a big deal or just nice but not essential.

I don't want to end up getting one and then it not being capable of doing what's required. (Whatever that may be). Told you, hopeless...:blushing:
