Download Garmin mapsource

I have a CD of Garmin Mapsource at home, but neglected to pack it for my travels.

I now want to update my GPS on the road with the wanderlust set of maps. To do this I need to install MapSource at an internet cafe. Does anyone know where Mapsource is available as a download?

I found the following instructions, which rely on installing Gamins training software first. Unfortunately my internet connection is too slow at the moment to get through the instal. Does anyone know if this or alternative sources work?

cheers

MapSource updates available from Garmin website require existing old version of MapSource or Trip & Waypoint manager (or this training software) to be installed.

You can also load maps to your device using free SendMap20 program:

cGPSmapper (scroll down to free SendMap20 rev 4).

It is much smaller download then MapSource, however with it you can't visually select which maps regions to load, but select files from disk.

First download BitComet from Here.... BitComet - A free C++ BitTorrent/HTTP/FTP Download Client

then go to here... garmin worldmap || isoHunt - World's largest BitTorrent and P2P search engine

It'll download the worldmap for you, not trip and waypoint manager, but thats on the download... but bear with it it'll take a while...

hope that helps. :confused1:

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
