Is the Garmin IQue3600 any good?

Hi All,

I am looking to by a PDA/GPS system before I go traveling around Europe and maybe Northern Africa & Middle East next year. Froom what I have read on the Garmin website the 3600 will meet all my needs in that I can email from it, contact to net, play MP3's and attach an external keyboard together with the benefit of GPS.

Will I be loosing any (important) GPS features by choosing this over a dedicated Garmin GPS product? Does anyone have any first hand experience of using them on a bike and what do you think of them?

Any help/advise would be appreciated.

Thanks
Gazzr

Gazzr:

If you plan to do your trip inside a nice, enclosed saloon, like a Mercedes S series, then by all means get the iQue.

If you plan to ride a motorcycle, forget about the iQue - it's neither waterproof or sandproof.

Go to this link for more discussion about GPSR's on off-road motorcycles: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/forumdi...?s=&forumid=46

Hi Pan,

Thanks for the info and I see what you mean about the 3600 not being very suitable for bike use. I have checked out the ukgser forums (lots of information on there) and they talk about otterbox's being one solution so will have to do some more reseach before deciding what to buy. Will be visiting www.gpsw.co.uk on the weekend to see what the 3600 looks like in the flesh and maybe look at possible alternatives etc.

Thanks for your help
