GPS to use with a Laptop
 

It's probably down to personal choices but:

If you had to choose a GPS unit that you could use on it's own (thus ruling out these plug in GPS units that only send to the data down a link i.e. no screen or controls)... AND with a laptop to run live navigation software...

What would you use... it's for mainly 4x4 use but I want the ability to have occasional motorbike use.... the 4x4 will have a pc based in it...

So: GPS unit?
What Software to use on the laptop?

Do they have an external plug in aerial? What kind?

Any suggested suppliers?
