Garmin GPS2+ stuck on "Upload Not Present"

A while ago now my Garmin GPS2+'s screen went onto "Upload"
A little while later it went onto "Upload Not Present" and has been stuck on this ever since.
Ive tried all sorts of button pushing combinations(i thought punching at buttons with big fat gloves might have caused a weird combo), checked the manual etc. but no mention of this mode.
Any ideas?

You might send Garmin tech support an email. They told me about a reboot key-combo for my GPS unit - wasn't documented anywhere. (and I've since sold the unit that had the combo written down in the manual)

Smile Garmin GPS12 stuck with "UPLOAD NOT PRESENT" : SOLUTION

My Garmin GPS12 entered this state when I sit on it in the car !
I bought a data cable, then downloaded firmware (from internet), then transferred to the GPS, and it works fine.
Waypoints and tracks were not lost !
Solution explained here with details and pictures : http://erga.free.fr/

My goodness, an answer!

Id totally forgotten about this post, in fact ive had 2 other GPS units since this post (one got nicked). The GPS 2+ is still sat in the draw and it would be nice to have a backup unit.
I'll try this fix out! Many thanks......

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
