Garmin advice please

OK, so I am about to commit to buy a Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx. Last minute doubts as I have a habit of buying stuff just before the newest model ("twice the features for half the price") is announced (seriously, it happens too often to be funny). Does anybody know if Garmin are about to release an updated version of this GPS unit? Should I be looking at other options? Many thanks.

Edit: can anybody double confirm that this is the correct handlebar mount for Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx?

I think your search has thrown up a push-bike mount. You need a RAM mount type of thing.

Speak to these people or do a search on 60CSx RAM mount.

I think there are good deals to be had on the 60csx these days compared to what they used to be, I done a lot of head scratching deciding which GPS to buy and I’ve absolutely no regrets going for the 60csx. Very robust unit!! I bought one back in March and used it for a month in Morocco, takes a little getting used to compared to car Sat Nav but this is also a great Nav for off road!

As for maps I bought ‘City Navigator Europe 2009 NT V11 Full’ from guys on Amazon for 25GBP!!! Can find UK addresses by full post code, entering it into the ‘City’ field.

If you’re interested check out this link to my post, firmware update for 60csx for using microSD cards larger than 2GB and some useful info about this GPS. http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ring-lat-39889

Oh! Don’t buy the lockable Touratech mount, the lock is a waste of space!! Get the standard one if any and a rubber band made form an inter tube!

A good yank from the top of the GPS and it will be gone!! Lock option was a extra 20quid wasted from Touratech!!
