Garmin 5

Hi All

I have just tried to use my GPS and have found that it cannot aquire any satalites.

I know that the US have turned off the military ones but surely the commercial ones should be on.

Or is this yet another problem with this unit. Perhaps I'll be able to use it once for a whole trip!!!!

Thanks

Julio

I just came back from a ride (Vancouver, BC) and I had plenty of coverage. The sats work here.

Bought a GPS V Saturday and tested it over WE -> works fine (in Europe, CH) 15m accuracy and 3D is no problem.

Cheers, Kudi

Maybe you switched it to indoor use.

Hi Freek

I definately didn't have indoor selected. Have sent it back to Garmin so will have to see what they say.

Cheers

Hi All

Have just got a replacement for Garmin, yep the unit was defunt!!! 2 out of 2 so far. Can't complain with the customer service though, just hope I have more luck with this one.

How many satellites on average are the UK users getting on their GPS since the military ones were switched off for public use?

Thanks

Julio
