Free Online Motorcyle Mapping Service

Just a note to check out Dual Sport Maps and GPS Resources.

This is a free website where bikers post and create garmin and .gpx tracks for others to use. Very nice interface. Very well done.

I hope more people use it as a central repository for GPS routes.

I struggled getting your page to load.

I've used and liked these 3 sites:

NaviBoard Outdoor GPS-Navigation
In German

6380 Motorbike Rides and Motorcycle Roads, Route Planner
UK and Europe

GpsXChange.com - GPS Tracklog / Waypoints / Route exchange Forum
Mostly North America

cheers
Chris

Note it's not quite free - they do request a $20 donation.

Actually, the site is free for storing and sharing GPX files.

Exactly one of the six hand drawn Garmin compatible maps that required great amounts of my time and some expense for the compiling software is made available for a donation of $20. The other 5 Garmin maps are also free.

The 4000+ tracks from all over the world will forever be made available at no cost through the website. At least while I can afford to keep the website online.

The site has over 1000 registered users and >10,000,000 hits this year, so I think it's fair to say Chris' experience is unusual.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
