Hello,

I have downloaded many maps from that server, also the georeferencing files too.

The problem is, that most of the maps are not correct calibrated. There are many mistakes. Before use look for the calibration. If it is correct You will see immediately when You switch on the netlines.

Regards

Ulrich

Umm I've downlaoded maps from that site for
Spain, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Iran, Pakistan and India

No errors in the OZiexplorer calibration files that I can see...

Note: the original map has a projection and datum that are russian .. so if you display it using a different datum then the map indicated lat/long lines will not line up with your chosen datum...

Hi Frank

How do you use the Georeferend file in OziE? In my Map folder all calibration files have extension XXX_png.cal while the downloaded files have a XXX.map extension. Do they need to be converted in png.cal files somehow or am I using OziE incorrectly?

Thanks in advance

Noel

Oziexplorer has an extremly extensive and well documented thing on all the files used and their extensions used by Oziexplorer. See the help file ..

From memory ..

the .map file is a simple text file (you can open and read it with any text editor.. it contains
the name of the file it uses ... eg mine.gif
the place where the file is stored (by Oziexplorer will look in teh default directories too)
the x,y coridnates for the reference locations
the lat,lon of the ref coordinates
and the projection and datum of the map...

The raster map is contained in a photograpic type file - eg .gif, .bmp, jpg, .ecw .. oh Oziexpolrer also has its own photo format .. don't recal what that is.. .ozx ? somerthing like that
