I might well come and wave you off, especially as I see you're in South London, so we could potter down the A3 together.

Don't suppose you're z going to the Ace Cafe for the Adventure biking thing, the Sunday after next?

Hi Alex,

Oooh....that's the best offer I've had all morning! Unfortunately, I shall already be in Chichester as we're meeting Saturday evening to ensure that nobody oversleeps, so the A3 will have to wait for another time. But I might well get to the Ace the following Sunday if the snow has gone. Look out for a red C90 with a flag and pole on the back. It might be me.....and I might vene buy you a cup of tea! :mchappy:

That isn't the best travel lodge to have chosen. You have to travel about 8 miles east to Chichester before you can turn around to get back to Portsmouth. I made that mistake when we first came down here.
You've actually got nearer 25 miles to get to the port. If it's not too late you might be better changing to the travelodge next to the ferry terminal

Ok, thanks Paul I'll tell Dennis but I suspect we'll stay put as it was cheap and it will be luxury in comparison with what awaits us in the Sahara.

OK - at least you have some warning! Unlike me when I set off for work on my first day in the new job a few years ago.
The A27 is a fast dual carriageway towards Chichester, which you can't avoid, but there is a more pleasant and only slightly slower road parallel and to the south of the main road on the return back towards Portsmouth.
We're due in at Heathrow about 6:30 that morning so we're intending to come and see you off either at the travelodge or the ferry depending on the time we get clear of the airport.
