So I posted this in Travelers forum too, but I'm looking for info on a Bikers

Anyone interested? know of such a thing?

No worries - happens every year, 20-30 riders and car travellers too.

Just get there, and you won't have any trouble finding it - ski hill and or campground.

Also be sure to hit the Viedma Argentina HU Travellers Meeting in early December on the way there!

Exclamation Ushuaia at Christmas

I will be in Ushuaia from December 23 thru 26th with my wife Corinne and a good buddy John. We are all riding F650GS's starting in Lima on November 12th and heading south with no real plan other than to see lot's, ride lot's and get to Ushuaia by Dec 23rd. How does a meeting in Ushuaia for Christmas (mini rally?) come together? Anyone know of a proposed meeting place/time or does it just happen by accident? <G>

Viedma/Ushuaia 007

Perhaps the 007 part is most appropriate regarding the Viedma/Ushuaia 007 event. Based on the great photos of past Veidma/Ushuaia events of the past, it appears that somehow, those of the Hubb, found each other, ate, drank and were careful.

We are leaving Buenos Aires last day or two of November and should be arriving Viedma very early December. We will 007 around to find camping and those of the Hubb. The British might have a leg up on this sort of thing, anyway, anyone use a CB radio (citizens band) and if so what channel?

Meanwhile we are off to beaches north of Punta del Este, Uruguay November 8th....and be there a week or so.....wave if you see us....and by the way anyone seen or herd (pun intended) of any cattle mutilations or UFO siteings in Argentina? Ed and Elisa, two red Hondas.

We will be in Ushuaia for Christmas and all three of us have CB's mounted (J&M handlebar model) We use channel 20 because the mid channel of the CB band is usually the best for quality and range. Also it is easy to move down to 19 (truckers channel in N. America) for a listen then back to 20.

Ushuaia, channel 20.... Christmas 007

Valkrider, thanks for the come back....channel 20 it is, and for good reasons. Most "camioneros" truckers in Argentina also use channel 19, "according to local contacts." I run a Cobra 75 WX St mike with CB built into it, so am not on air as often as you all, but will listen for you in Ushuaia. Handle is:

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
