Hi,

Very sad news about the Dakar, I was looking forward to following the race again this year. I have just been reading about the British riders taking part and the cost in terms of time and commitent they have put in, sadly for some this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to take part this year. Hope the situation improves for next year.

Regards

Robin

Wink Anyone want a 742 map??!

There are about 4 threads running on this theme right now; we are obviously all "hurt".

Personally, I invested £4.99 in a new 742 Michelin map to follow this better on TV than my usual state of ignorance of the geography - not wasted of course, I might get there one day!!

This is bad news, I was looking forward to following it on Pc as well.

Imagine what Charley Boormans reaction would of been if this had happened during the filming of his DVD.

He would have had kittens.

And rightly so.

I feel sorry for all the privateers who have spent a fortune in getting there.

I bet they get smashed out of their heads tonight.

They will all have visas etc, Id go down and have a ride in the dunes just to say I had done it.

Is this a case of the terrorists winning ?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
