Austin and Lois bring you The Adventure Travel Film Festival!

Hot dang fellow adventurers!

Lois and I have had a secret for years and now we're going to share it with you: we've been collecting killer adventure travel films for a long time and now's the moment to reveal them to a wider audience - that's you!

These movies aren't just about motorcycle travel, we've also dug up stuff from the worlds of canoeing, cycling, 4x4s and some unbelievable nuggets from the archive.

We wanted to submit them to an adventure travel film festival, but discovered there is no such thing! So... ladies and gentlemen... we hereby present... the world's first ever (da-daah!) ADVENTURE TRAVEL FILM FESTIVAL!

It takes place in luvverly north Devon on the first weekend in June (3rd-5th) and it's going to be a rockin' good weekend. The films are amazing and there's loads of other cool stuff going on at the festival - film-making workshops, trail rides with the Devon TRF and too much to write about here. So please check out the website, watch the trailer and come on down!
Adventure Travel Film Festival

See you there,
Austin and Lois

Tale of Two Cities

Normally I wouldn't have missed this event for the world but now I am going to have to !

We start our RTW trip arriving in New York on 3rd April so we will miss the Arizona showings and in June when the Devon festival is on we will be somewhere in the wilds of Canada on our way back down to Seattle to ship our bikes to Vladivostock.

Dark forces are at work here to keep us away........

Fear not strimstrum - the festival will be back next year with more super duper films. Sounds like you will be having plenty of REAL adventure. I will see you in Coventry though!

I'll be coming down for tips on making a decent film out of our 2012 scooter extravaganza (Bamako or Bust - Home), but hopefully we will have started shooting the show reel with some green laning and beach racing.

Count me in too ( plus the old man). It will be the w/e before I clear off to Mongolia with Wildman, Rick and Paul (but not the old man) so that will be a cool pre trip treat!

Will either of you be at the bike show this year?

Jens showed this movie at the Italy HU meet and although I don't speak German, it was an amazing adventure and not to be missed.

BTW, Lois, thanks for a really good night in Coventry last week - thoroughly enjoyed it.

Die Welt ist keine gerade.

Hi, I have every intention of making it to this film festival. I shall bring a copy of the above DVD and can translate as it is shown, if Austin and Lois want that. Push The Limits, Lindsay.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
