Motorcycle Travellers Meet - India 2013

Greetings from India!
For the first time in India - Motorcycle Travellers Meet (MTM). We are honored to have HU as our "Event partner" - Thanx to Susan and Grant!

Meet dates - July 27th and 28th.

Motorcycle Travellers Meet is a get together of like-minded serious motorcycle travellers and adventure motorcyclists. The meet is geared for travellers who belong on the motorcycle, who venture out to explore the boundaries of adventure and travel. It’s a meet to share experiences, tips and inspire the spirit of travel and adventure.

What is planned;

What is planned;
A series of workshops covering topics like Tire Changing, On road maintenance tips and Tools, Camping and motorcycling and Outbound travel
Three to four / 30-45 minutes talks from motorcyclists who have travelled round the world and in India.

Open Sessions for tips on the road, experiences and stories of inspiration from participating travellers
Lots of time to connect with fellow travellers
Some of our key speakers;

Avinash Thadani: After living and working in the US for more then 10 years and spending most of that time in NYC it was time to see the rest of the world. In 2000, the road from Alaska till the bottom of Argentina inspired a journey and the soul. 10 years later, Avi found himself riding through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. The trip was 4 months and 15,000 kms on a KTM 640 adventure.

Jay Kannaiyan: The desire to understand more about our beautiful planet and connect with the people of the Earth drove Jay to quit his job in Chicago, sell his house and most worldly belongings and get on his trusty Suzuki DR650, named sanDRina, and head off into the wind. The journey titled "Jammin thru the Global South" began in March 2010. The 3 year and 3 month journey covered 103,200 kms across 33 countries on 5 continents ending in India. Jay is Jupiter's Traveller.

Bharadwaj Dayala: From Vishakhapatnam (Vizag), Bharadwaj flew out from Bombay en-route to Tehran (Iran) with his Indian made motorcycle in 2006 to travel the world ALONE, over 19 months and five continents. The journey of this self-possessed man reflects a humbling human experience and inspires every motorcycle adventurer. The trip was fully self-funded.

The workshops will revolve around Tire Changing, On Road maintenance and tools, Camping and motorcycling, Paperwork and visas for outbound travel

The Open Sessions have been included to tap into the collective knowledge of participant travellers. Destination information, technical information, gear information and similar topics will be covered which will be prompted by participants. It will also provide opportunities to the participants to share their journeys and experiences on the road. Talks will be confirmed as we finalise on the participation list.

The meet is planned in a campsite 60 kms away from Bangalore. Camp can accommodate 70 people making it a small gathering of serious motorcycle travellers.

For more information - pls check website. Registrations are open.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
