Kazakhstan - Burabike
Burabike - The biggest bike meet in Central Asia, people come not only from all over central asia but from western Siberia (Omsk, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Ekaterinburg) to go to Burabike, held in the scenic village of Burabai, about 200km north of Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
The festival has an emphasis on moto-travel and features many local musicians and the odd western band. Thousands of people typically attend. The village / resort of Burabai (in Kazakh) / Borovoye (in Russian) is situated amongst lakes and mountains and is jokingly described by the steppe dwelling bikers as the "Switzerland of the Steppes". It is located at N53.09 E70.30 (thats digital ... not degrees and minutes) This year, Burabike will be July 2-4. Бурабайк 2010 Anyone travelling through about that time will end up with a very good set of biking contacts across Siberia and Central Asia.

Can I add that there is another bikers' festival, usually held on 1st of May, about 200 kilometers north of Alma-Aty? Major gathering early morning at the central stadium, in Alma-Aty, and then in convoy to the festival itself (and I apologise for that, I don't have the name of the place...)
