Japan traveler's meeting November 6-7, 2010
World Touring Network - Japan (WTN-J) Camp Meeting
November 6-7, 2010 Akiha Jinja-mae Campground, Shizuoka Prefecture, JAPAN The World Touring Network-Japan will be holding a camp meeting on November 6-7. Come meet motorcycle travelers, swap stories. Newcomers to international touring can also pick up tips from those who have been before. Free for traveling riders from other countries who are visiting Japan. Information in Japanese: Site Pictures of campground (to help find the entrance): SITE Map in English: http://www2.gol.com/users/chrisl/map2/mapfile.jpg Directions: From the Hamamatsu or Hamamatsu-nishi exit of the Tomei Expressway in Shizuoka Prefecture, take highway 152 north to highway 362/473 to intersection with pefectural road (kendo) 286 in Haruno Town (28 km from the expressway). Take road 286 about 1 km towards Akiha-jinja Shimo-sha (Shinto shrine). The campground is on the left side of the road along the river. Look for a "WTN-J" sign (there should be one). Note that there is another campground in the area. If you go to nearby Akiha Auto Campground and are charged 2,500 yen, you are in the wrong place. Chris,
would love to come, but really busy. Maybe next time you can have the meeting in the Shikoku area??  To everyone else: if you want to meet a biker who knows all the "doooos" and "donts" over here in the land-of-the-not-always-rising-sun, attend the meeting!! Chris is the man!!!!

Im excited to be there.
My girlfriend and myself have travelled around the world and just happen to be near that area at the right time. We have had a great trip and look forward to sharing some stories. We have travelled on xt 250s and our website is Home - Journey around the world Japan is truly a wonderful place to be riding a motorcycle. Thanks for the detailed location info Cheers Dano
