Edmonton, AB, Canada, March 4, Biker Book Cabaret

Hey all.

I'll be up in Edmonton on Wednesday, March 4 to participate in a book reading at The Carrot. Ted Bishop, author of Riding with Rilke is headlining the event, and I'm hoping to lend legitimacy to my career by standing beside him in a public place and trying to look distinguished. I'll be reading a short piece from my book Motorcycle Therapy, and if there's time and interest, I might even crack out an excerpt from my current book-in-progress about my latest motorcycle trip through the Middle East.

I'll be signing copies of my book after the reading. (If you've never heard of Motorcycle Therapy, feel free to click through to my website.)

Anyway, I'm not sure what to expect, but the more people that turn up the better... I prefer to humiliate myself in front of large crowds.

I should warn you though... I've heard rumours of a small cover charge at the door.

Date: March 4,2009
Time: 7pm
Location: The Carrot, 9351-118 ave in Edmonton

Thanks to all who came out to the event... it was fantastic. Albert killed with his reading from "Motorcycles and the Perfect Moment," and Ted Bishop could be a comic if he ever looses his job as an English professor. So many people showed up, in spite of the fact that I told everyone that the The Carrot was on Whyte Ave, when really it was on 118 Ave... "The Hood." When I got out of my car, I had to step over a bloody parka on the sidewalk. Still, great event!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
