Caravana Bolivia 13-16 april Sucre Cochabamba

Bikers (2 wheels and quads) from Cochabamba and Sucre are organizing a four day caravana from Sucre to Cochabamba. It's sort of a Mad Max event and I managed to convince foreigners to do it before, in similar events. You'll like it! There's a reasonable inscription fee (< $80 I think). The itinerary is Sucre (Party on the 12th in and around Joy Ride Cafe, near the central Plaza), Villa Serrano, Valle Grande, Mizque and then back to Sucre or on to Cochabamba whatever you prefer. Write me if you want to know more.
I'll post these things with more anticipation next time around as there are many of these events in Boliva. The grand caravana will be in August this year. I'll keep you posted.

Speaking of motorcycle events in Bolivia, I have heard of a ride to La Higuera, Che's death site. I think it is in November. Do you know anything about this?

Do it!

Folks, as one of the lucky ones who has been on this ride with Gert (well behind, him, really - he's fast) it is a memorable event. Pig roasts, dancing girls, Che's memorial site, stunning slickrock, twisty jungles, lots of , waterfalls, and great Bolivian hospitality. Gert is super knowledgeable about Sucre and the riding culture there.

Highly Reccommended.
Rene

Thumbs up Caravana Chica

Yes Andy (not sidecar Andy as in Andy and Maya are you?), there's a small caravana, also organised by the Honda import guys (just like the big caravana http://www.caravan-atv.com). It's very manageable, not too long and not too hard. Just don't crash. This is the one that Rene joined me on. Thanks for the flattering comments Rene. Any chance of you coming back to Bolivia? There's more and more caravanas every year!
Anyway I'll try to keep all of you guys updated on the latest caravanas in 'motorcycly events around the world'.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
