Primus rally

A while ago (well, earlier this year!), there was a thread about the Primus rally in Norway. Does anyone on here know when it is on and have any contact details / website etc? I would like to go at least once. Probably either 2007 or 2008 with 2008 looking the likely candidate. As anyone from England done this rally and roughly how much will it cost? I assume I'll have to travel via mainland Europe has there doesn't seem to be any ferries to Scandinavia during the winter.

Primus is always the last weekend in february. It is not an organized event, people just show up so I don't think you will find a website or contactdetails because there is noone to contact...
The meeting itself is free.

You can see some old pictures here (not mine): http://www.otc-mc.org/~197/primus_2003/ or here http://images.google.com/images?q=primustreff&hl=no

Actually, I'm trying to map the winter rallies in Norway as we speak, so to speak (...). This is what I've come up with so far:

- Krystallrally 14. - 18. february 2007 (softcore winter rally: Hotel rooms only... http://www.krystallrally.no/), ca 3,5 hrs northwest of Oslo

- The Primus Rally - the original: 23. - 25. february 2007, ca 2 hrs north of Oslo

- Busk Winter Rally 16 - 17. March 2007 (that's spring, isn't it?), ca 1 hrs north of Oslo

- Heteslaget (the Heat Stroke), Vallset in Hedmark county, 2-3 hrs northeast of Oslo - date tbd, but probably late january/early february 2007

- Firda Frost, 8 hrs west of Oslo, probably end November 2006

- The Primus Borealis Rally - Alta in Northern Norway, 2-4 February 2007 (approx. 30 hrs effective riding from Oslo)

- "Vinterskjelven" (The Winter Trembler) in Møre & Romsdal County, some 7 hrs northwest of Oslo, late jan/early febr 2007

I'll update as I get dates & venues confirmed.

Indu, where you the guy who e-mailed me about the Primus? It will probably be 2008 before I can get to it as I am doing the altes elefanten this year (well, 2007). I'll keep checking on here for further information about it.

snow hope

primus rally info link http://www.spitfire-mk.no/primus-borealis%202007.htm

I thought about going for it 2007, but it would take way to long, so am going back to plan A around norway/sweden etc.

The Alg rally 2007 has been cancelled, BUT it will be a big trip 2008, possibly involving the primus.

A good couple of winter sites are www.winterbiker.de and www.winterfahrer.de

happy times (if it snows..)

Yes, I think I was - a year ago? Anyway: The Elefanten thingy is a large one. The (original) Primus rally is quite small. Not so organised, but very very friendly. It has been going on for years and years. Not for the faint-hearted, and not easily to get to. No web-page - only for those who are well connected enough to know about it (all of you who visit the HU, I guess...). The Primus Borealis is the Northern Ultima Thule variant of the Primus Rally.

Let us know how the Elefanten went! Pictures would be cool (pun absolutely intended...).
