hello jens,
thank you mucho for organizing a meeting like this.
i read the details, but wonder why you only offer accomodations in hotels.
did i miss something, is there no campground available or is this a meeting exclusively for soft-boiled eggs...;)?

oldbmw 16 Mar 2008 21:55

Sadly, that coincides with the annual veteran bike rally at Dijon. I have missed it the last two years..

Caminando 17 Mar 2008 12:00

Good luck to all for the first German Horizons meeting!!! Have fun!

Gecko 17 Mar 2008 13:09

Hi Jens
Sounds good - about 450km from Brussels so could be a fun little trip for me. Will there be any off road ride outs ? I'd like to know if it's worth driving down on TKC tyres or not . It would be a shame to spoil them on the tarmac for all that distance if there was no dirt planned for the weekend.
Cheers
Gecko

So who is going so far?

I've yet to pay/register for my place yet but have got my ferry booked from Newcastle to Amsterdam on the 21st as I was already heading out that way. Anyone else going this route?

Read it again. Camping is included in the registration fee.

Hi,

I will be there. I arrive in the UK early May and will be riding somewhere in France, so thought I may as well head up into Germany for the meeting. Looking forward to meeting fellow Hubbers!!

Kenny

I'm going too. Same day as you but from Hull to Zeebrugge. Our paths might cross near Koln, so if you see a Blue Tiger and a Suzy Bandit give us a wave.

Will do. Should be hitting that area around lunchtime on the 22nd. I'll be riding a green/black ZX6-R.

El Aleman - Jens 21 Mar 2008 18:46

Camping for sure - enough space for all of you - welcome!

Hello Airhead,

of course is camping available, the most of the people will camp - just some guys where asking about rooms, so I gave them 2 options.

We also will have a nice firewood etc. You bike will be direct at your tent - no problem!

Hello Gecko,

Offroad in Germany.....what do you think???? Nearly impossible....Maybe I can arrange a ride to a nearby Motocross track....but it will be very difficult!

I would recommend normal road tyres for sure!

See you - Jens

Ok thanks jens - I guess I'll be saving my TKC's for another day. Michelin Anakees it is then :thumbup1: Looking forward to it anyway - great biking roads in Germany anyway :scooter::funmeteryes:

1st Annual HU Meeting May 22nd-25th/2008

Hello Jens, Sounds like great time to meet fellow euro-riders, see you there. Cheers

KennyE 27 May 2008 21:04

A big Ups to Jens and Grant for a great meeting. I couldn't understand any of the German presentations but had a great time meeting all like minded individuals.

Cheers,

Kenny

P.S. Who was that who pitched heir tent so close to mine then proceeded to snore all night? My earplugs were simply items for collecting earwax when confronted with that chainsaw!!
