Urgent UK-Spain-Morocco travel update

Hi Folks,

Latest news.

1. Brittany Ferries are on strike tomorrow and offering P&O Dover Calais crossings as replacement. See the BF website for details.
2. Political demonstrations in Spain may cause disruption next week. See Foreign Office website for information.
3. Extreme weather in Morocco. 44 degrees in Marrakech and Tinerhir etc. pushing 50 in Zagora.
4. Several serious road accidents in the past few days. Two British girls dead and one chap seriously injured. Many near misses too being attributed to 3 above.

Let's be careful out there.

Peter

I hope Brittany ferries sort it out before we go, just over a week now!
Has there been any more unrest with the Muslims and the American embassies??

The moroccans are fairly uneffected by the american issues. I was there when the yanks invaded iraq and barely got a riased eyebrow.

Bloody striking ferries better sort out before I depart in 2 weeks though.

Noticed temps are high but apples weather is always optimistic and won't cover south of the Atlas (minds you their new maps probable don't show anything to the south anyway lol )

Driving safety, well it is Morocco, my golden rules are never drive at night unless you really have a deathwish or have a thorough understanding of the 'Inshalla' approach to life, and best avoid the buses outside of cities

Ferries to Spain are resuming now - not that it helped us - extra 800+ mile drive via Dover

Temperature very nice in Marrakech today.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
