Update for Tanger Med port

Hi all,

Well, it was only a matter of time...

The "official" helpers that plagued Ceuta and Tanger Ville port for years have begun to appear at Tanger Med.
Now they're dressed in TangerMed Assistance jackets and impede your progress through customs for a tip. Their trick is to take your papers from you to check "all is in order" before you reach the real uniformed douaniers who process your paperwork.
Make sure you've signed and dated your D16ter form and head for the nearest douanier.
Please don't give them any money as their assistance isn't really required.

(It's bloomin' cold here in Merzouga!)

Just a thought...

If they impede your progress through customs for a tip, will they speed up your progress if you take money FROM them ??

We entered via Tanger Med, May 1 2012. I really do not know why anyone would have problems with those guys. They approached us, we politely said "thank you, we know everything - not first time" and they never touched us again. Ever. We only spoke to fully dressed in uniform guys and that's it.
