in morocco at moment on super light yamaha serow love to do some moderate pistes but would prefer experienced company anybody avail in jan 2011 maybe zagora rissani area or whateveim experienced overlander but done very little on pistes

A fun route that won't overtax you is going up the Dades Gorge, then crossing over to the Todra Gorge or vice versa. For company just hang about at the entrance to either, you will see others going that way. Providing it's not snowed under of course!

Gorge to gorge?
 

Not sure I'd to the gorge to gorge route in January! There was still loads of snow there when we did it last year in March. In a nice warm 4x4... The track gets pretty beaten up so you'd need to find out what condition it's in before you commit yourself. I've done it in 3 hours, other times it's taken 8.

Even the track from the top of Dades from Msemir to Agoudal was very exposed and difficult. Not sure I'd like to do either on a bike in the winter.

Agree with JoJo, wouldn't class the gorge link piste as moderate.

There's some easy pistes running to the eastern side of the main road between Agdz and Zagora.

Agreed - did that route with a couple of mates last March on old XTs and a KTM 990 - one of the easier pistes we tackled. Also, the Zagora to Foum Zaguid road is fine as a starter piste - just a couple of washed out Oueds where you need to take it easy.
